Prof. R. Mantke

Prof. R. Mantke works as clinic director and as chair for general and visceral surgery at the MHB since 2015. His scientific interest is outcome research and the quality in surgery based on routine data and registry data.  Several translational scientific projects are based on the Brandenburg Tissue and Database for Colorectal Carcinoma. 

Dipl. psych. Richard Hunger

Richard Hunger is a psychologist and has many years of experience in medical statistics. He has been analyzing outcome parameters of surgical interventions for several years and has experience in meta-analyzes and systematic reviews as well as in the evaluation of registry data. He joined our team in 2018. 

Ulrike Weber

Ulrike Weber is a statistician and data technology engineer. She has been part of our team since 2023. She analyzes cancer registry data and routine data from a gender perspective.

Karina Börner, MTA

Karina Börner has many years of experience as a medical-technical assistant in biomedical laboratories. She joined our team in 2020. She works with in our biobank projects and is responsible for the digital archiving of pathological slides.

Dipl.-Biol. Chrissanti Helmke

Chrissanti Helmke is a biologist and has many years of experience in structuring, analyzing and working in the Colon Cancer Center Brandenburg a part of the University Hospital Brandenburg. She coordinates the clinical studies that are carried out through the Colon Cancer Center. 

Prof. Dr. med. M. Sahm

Prof. M. Sahm is a general and gastrointestinal surgeon. He works as a senior physician in a large hospital in Berlin (DRK Kliniken Berlin Köpenick) . He has been a member of our team since 2016. He has many years of experience in analyzing registry data and analyzing quality in surgery.

PD Dr. med. Ch. Paasch

PD Dr. Paasch is a general surgeon. He works as a senior physician in the University Hospital Brandenburg/Havel and

as a guest scientist at the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. As a member of the german and european hernia society he is mainly researching on the field of hernia surgery. 

Prof. Dr. med. C. Schildberg

PD C. Schildberg is a general and gastrointestinal surgeon. He works as a senior physician in the University Hospital Brandenburg. He has been a member of our team since 2020. His focus is on gastric cancer and acute appendicitis studies. He analyzes clinical and administrative data. 

Dr. Sebastian Lünse

Dr. Sebastian Lünse is a specialist in surgery and is investigating the use of artificial intelligence in laparoscopic procedures to improve the quality of care.

Sophie Heisler

Sophie Heisler is a training assistant in surgery at the University Hospital Brandenburg. She joined our team in 2022. Actually she gained experience in analysis of routine data focused on hepatocellular carcinoma. 

Francesco Leggio

Francesco Leggio is a training assistant in surgery at the University Hospital Brandenburg. He joined our team in 2021.  

He analyzes the care of patients with gastric cancer using data from a cancer registry. 

Josephine Cornelius

Josephine Cornelius is a training assistant in surgery at the University Hospital Brandenburg. She joined our team in 2023.  

She is investigating the influence of blood pressure on the anastomotic leak rate in colorectal resections. 

Niklas Krollmann

Niklas Krollmann is a training assistant in surgery at the University Hospital Brandenburg and analyzes the safety of a single-incision cholecystectomy and the clinical deviations from a classic 4-trocar cholecystectomy. He joined our team in 2020. 

Julius von Frankenberg

Julius von Frankenberg is a training assistant in surgery at the University Hospital Munich. He joined our team in 2021. Actually he gained experience in the analysis of postoperative complications and outcome after single incision laparoscopic surgery in a large multicentre study.

Kathrin Lange

Kathrin Lange is a specialist in internal medicine 

in a large hospital in Berlin (Sana Klinikum Lichtenberg).  

Kathrin analyzes the quality reports from the hospitals and compares them with data from the Federal Statistical Office. Her focus is on operations on the pancreas. 

Katherina Boettge

Katherina Boettge is a surgical resident in general surgery at Franciscan Health, Midwestern University, USA. Katherina analyzes the surgical care of patients with sigmoid diverticulitis in Germany over a 10-year period. 

Jette Kirbach

Jette Kirbach is a medical student. She analyzes clinical data as part of incisional hernia operations for the quality of care and works with routine data on analyzes for decubitus operations including plastic surgery. She joined our team in 2022

Julian Bauer

Julian Bauer is a medical student. He has been part of our working group since 2020. He analyzes the extent to which scientific competencies are taught in medical education in Germany.

Jula-Melina Matzner

Jula-Melina Matzner is a medical student and analyzes the quality of treatment in single-incision appendectomy as part of a large multi-center quality study. She joined our team in 2020.

Sophie Wagner

Sophie Wagener is a medical student and uses cancer registry data to investigate long-term survival after pancreatic cancer resection. She joined our team in 2024

Victoria Stirn

Victoria Stirn is a medical student and works on quality projects with routine data in colon cancer. She joined us in 2019. 

Jeniffer Hafkesbrink

Jennifer Hafkesbrink is a medical student and works in cooperation with the North German Arbitration Board in Hannover. She analyzes biliary tract injuries during laparoscopic cholecystectomies. She joined our team in 2018.

Marcia Fricke

Marcia Fricke is a medical student and analyzes the quality of treatment of bowel resections through single-incision operations as part of a large quality assurance study (SILAP study).

Clara Danzer

Clara Danzer is a medical student and examines the influence of 3D laparoscopy on safety aspects as part of learning about laparoscopic procedures. She joined our team in 2017.
